Our Story. We joined GWT in October 2007 through a distant connection to an online friend. My husband, Jamie, and Joe were both actively involved in a basketball fan website, and one day, Joe asked Jamie to review a business plan for his wife, Jenett. Jenett was looking to add jewellery to her handbag business and was looking for a second opinion, especially since Joe was sceptical. Jamie was unable to make it to the presentation and kindly asked if I could go help them. At the time I was busy working as a software develop at IBM, and was tired after work, but decided to go to do them a favour. After the presentation, I sat down with Jenett again and re-explained the compensation plan. By the time we finished, I saw how fair and powerful the compensation plan is and also how simple it is to build the business. I was determined to succeed with GWT and our journey began.

Our Decision. I joined as a Platinum member the first night I saw the presentation, after I had all my questions about the product and the business answered. I saw, for the first time, my ticket to generating positive and lasting residual income. Immediately, I decided to build my GWT business part-time and I started by dedicating about 5 hours per week to GWT. My personal-life goal was to be a stay-at-home mom by the time we have our first baby, and to stretch our dream further, to create the lifestyle so that Jamie can also be a stay-at-home dad. We had always dreamed of living off of 10% of our revenue generating businesses and then change the world with 90%.

Getting Started. That night, I shared GWT with my husband and arranged a time for him to see the presentation so that he could provide his input and support. I highly respect Jamie’s way of thinking and track record of success in anything he is involved in. Jamie, at the time, was a senior IT manager at a tax consulting firm and we also had a busy and successful real estate investing business in Canada. Being fairly new and trying to show him the business plan for my first time, Jamie gave his blessing for me to do the business, but wasn’t interested himself. However, he did say he’d be willing to come and see more information to help me strategize with my business, so I invited him and my brother Rene Liaw to come and see it. Rene, who was also a software developer for a large telecommunications company, wasn’t initially interested when I approached him, but both came to see what it was that I was excited about. After they saw the tour from the corporate team, they were both so excited that they also became Platinum members, and we all became Founding Members, because we decided that we were going to devote some serious part-time energy to the business.

At first, we just focused on learning a little bit each week, and then putting it into action - we only had 3-5 hours per week in our busy schedule. But some of the first few people we talked to were interested, and became members. One month into the business we had a big vacation scheduled - we didn’t know we were starting a business in October, so in late November we flew to Spain and went on a 3 week vacation. We expected to really get started when we got back. To our surprise and excitement, the few people we introduced to the company, the team and the training and support system were busy while we were away - 21 new people had joined our team, and we had around $5,000 in commissions waiting for us when we got back! That got Jamie very excited, because he realized that if we could make that much while on vacation, imagine what we could do if we would focus on making sure our people become successful! So as we earned and learned, we started to focus more part-time hours on the business.

The Benefits. During my fourth month in the business, I invested in a 21K Feri Mosh diamond ring. I had purchased it for $2,500 using my SAC and the IGI certificate of appraisal valued my ring at $3,895. My ring has 13 natural baguette diamonds, 30 natural round brilliant diamonds and all the diamonds are of VS1-2 clarity and F-H colour. Currently, the retail value of the ring is about $6,500. I truly have an investment!

Jamie’s first purchase is the FERI Original Tungsten Watch with Swiss movement. It has a sapphire crystal glass" which makes the entire watch scratch resistant. The FERI Original time piece has a double-locking clasp which gives it a compact and aesthetically attractive appeal. The amazing thing about the watch is the fact that Jamie previously refused to wear a watch because it felt uncomfortable or bulky. Since he bought this watch, he’s rarely seen without it.

GWT Changes Lives. To this date, our business has flourished and continues to flourish. By our sixth month, I resigned from my software developer job where I was working more than full-time hours. After 9 months, we were able to buy a new four bedroom home (an upgrade from our one bedroom condo), and then we bought a new luxury car so that we have more space for a family of our own. And in just over a year, Jamie was able to leave his well-paid job and we are now focussed on our GWT business to partner with other members who are motivated to make a positive change in their lives. And it’s working! Every month at least 2/3 of the top income earners list are people in our team, who have been able to live their dreams with the extra income they’re making from their GWT business. And helping all those other people has paid many dividends for us - we have earned over $200,000 in about a year and half of starting our GWT business and our team has grown to over 1,500 members. One incredible aspect to this business is that we have only personally introduced 24 friends and family to GWT and by being coachable and by duplicating the system, our team has grown to what it is today.

But the biggest achievement is that on March 19th our first child, Alexander Daniel Hongfu Maltman was born, and we’ve both been stay-at-home parents focused on our little guy, while still building this business around his schedule. So we are living the life of our dreams, running our business and travelling with Alex, as we continue to help our team.
